Jug Bay Patuxent River Boat trip. Jug Bay Wetlands Sanctuary. http://www.jugbay.org/ Landscapes and wildlife. Timed for Marsh flowers and Virginia Rails, Ducks and maybe Eagles. September 25 2016 – Field Trip to St. Michaels
Photo Ops in town, down the road to Tilghman Island, the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum and an Antique Car Show “Concours D’Elegance”. Lunch will be mid afternoon at the Crab Claw. May 14, 2016–Field Trip: Lonaconing Silk Mill
The abandoned Lonaconing Silk Mill has long been a favorite of NVPS members. It’s three floors offer many opportunities for photos of the mill’s machinery as well as the building itself. The Black water National Wildlife Refuge is located on Maryland’s Eastern Shore, just 12 miles south of Cambridge, Maryland in Dorchester County, and consists of over 27,000 acres (110 km2) of freshwater impoundments, brackish tidal wetlands, open fields, and mixed evergreen and deciduous forests.
