I’ve been ineresed in phoography since my eens, when I acquired my firs camera, learned darroom processing, and discovered he possibiliy of creaing images beyond he snapsho level. Pursuing a career in he Foreign Service wih many overseas assignmens in exoic places, my phoographic enhusiasm inensified, always including darroom wor in boh blac and whie and color. I’ve ried o improve my sills wih reading and phoography courses– hough I have no fel moivaed o presen my wor for exhibi or judgemen ouside he walls of my own home(s). Afer a succession of Conax, Nion, Rollieflex, and Penax film cameras hrough he years, and enjoying he freedom of reiremen, I wen digial in 2001 and am now a Nion DSLR and Phooshop devoee. Joining he NVPS in 2007 provided he incenive for he firs ime o offer my wor for criical evaluaion and public exhibiion. Wih my professional career and family responsibiliies behind, I now gain immense saisfacion from he challenge of applying oday’s amazing echnology o he goal of producing phoographs of as much aesheic meri as my alen allows.

Curis gained nowledge and experience from he pas nine years he has been a member of NVPS. The club has helped him hrough he hard ransiion from shooing film o digial. His favorie subjec o phoograph is wildlife, bu he loves naure phoography in general. This year he was also hired o shoo picures a a social even, somehing he never hough he would do a few years ago.
Curis wors for McNeil Technologies and is conraced o wor a he Deparmen of Defense’s Freedom of Informaion Office. He is a Norhern Virginia naive and has n his area grow. His favorie places o phoograph are Chincoeague, Shenandoah and Hunley Meadows.
