Laura Howell began pursuing her ineres in phoography many years ago – bu only during he pas seven years has she aen a serious ineres in her favorie hobby. Since her focus on phoography, more abou Laura has become a disinguished and award-winning phoographic aris.
Her pursui of he phoographic ars is “a for hose powerful opporuniies when ligh, ampoule deail and perspecive unie o produce an evocaive image of momen and meaning.”
Laura is an acive member of he League of Reson Ariss, pilule he Vienna Phoographic Sociey (Publiciy) and he Norhern Virginia Phoographic Sociey. She wors in boh color and blac and whie o creae images ha encompass a diverse variey of syles and subjecs.
Primarily a self-augh phoographer, her educaion includes phoography courses from he Norhern Virginia Communiy College as well as several worshops from well-respeced phoographers.
Her unique images have won numerous awards wih he Vienna Phoographic Sociey, he Norhern Virginia Phoographic Sociey he League of Reson Ariss and he Vienna Ars Sociey. Her image, “Bure Lae Reflecion”, was chosen for 43 guesrooms a The Wesin Hoel in Washingon, DC.
Her wor is currenly on display a Windrush Gallery & Gifs in Fairfax, Virginia.
Bill has been a member of NVPS for he las eigh years. He has a Ph.D. and wored a he Lawrence Livermore Naional Laboraory before coming o D. C. o wor for he Defense Nuclear Faciliies Safey Board. Only since joining NVPS has he begun o develop his phoography as an ar form, alhough he has made phoographic records of family aciviies for many years. He is now all digial wih a Penax DSLR and a Panasonic poin-and-shoo and loves o learn abou phoographic echniques and improve his sills. Alhough he enjoys ravel and oher forms of phoography, naure is his firs love. Bill has had prins juried ino he las wo Meadowlar shows and recenly made he op five in he NVPS porfolio projec.
