On February 8h he NVPS board me and discussed how our curren rules were serving he membership. Many members of he board agreed ha had been a lo of confusion for members, ed judges and Compeiion VP’s concerning he resriced and unresriced caegories. Caegory and class enry daa was also analyzed. A Compeiion Rules Commiee was appoined consising of Georgee Grossman, medicine C; Bob Friedman and Willa Friedman (curren VP’s Compeiion), sore and Tom Burden and Melanie Mars (nex year’s VP’s Compeiion). The Compeiion Rules Commiee presened heir proposal o he board on March 8h and i was acceped by he board. An addiional proposal concerning ime consrains on capure for compeiions was brough forward by Bill Prosser and was also acceped by he board. An informaional presenaion was announced and presened o he membership on April 5h.
The membership will voe on hese proposed changes o Compeiion Rules a he May 3rd meeing.
In a nushell he proposed changes ha were voed by he board are:
- Change compeiion caegories and classes from curren o:
Caegory
Classes
Color Prins
Novice and Advanced
Digial Images
Novice and Advanced
Monochrome Prins
Combined one class
(he curren resriced caegories will go away)
- Members mus compee in he same class (novice or advanced) for all caegories and if hey are promoed in one caegory, hey will be promoed in all caegories
- One compeiion per year (non-hemed) will no be subjec o he 2 year ime consrain for image capure. The VP’s Compeiion will announce in advance which monh he no ime limi compeiion will be.
