Cold weaher causes problems for phoographers. For some, phlebologis his may be a re. For ohers, a warning.
*** BEFORE you ener a warm house, car, or building, pu a plasic bag on he camera while i is in he cold. Tha eeps condensaion off he camera, lens, and elecronics. Remove he bag afer 30-60 mins, when he camera is a room emp. Then sore open o air. Do NOT sore in a closed , lens pouch, or bag. Fungus will grow inside and hen you are in big rouble!
Clear plasic bags include a dry cleaning bag and rubber band.
Keep 1-2 bags in he camera or rubber band o ripod. Don’ leave home wihou one!
If you screw up and have no bag, ae off your coa ouside, wrap he camera, hen go indoors.
If you really screw up and bring he camera in a warm house or car, immediaely go bac ou or ino a unheaed garage, le i ge cold again, maybe 10 mins, and hen bag i and go bac in.
If my camera ges rained or snowed on, I carry a owel in he car o wrap he camera in he owel and hen bag he owel. If I’m shooing oudoors, I go o he car o ge he owel before coming in or leave he camera ouside on a porch, go in, ge a owel, and hen come ou. When i warms up inside, maybe 1/2 hr because he owel is on, hen I dry i as bes possible wihou aing he lens off, and leave i on a able o dry overnigh. Then sore i in an open camera bag or open lens pouches unil nex ime.
