The NVPS Porfolio Projec is a nine monh projec ha runs hrough May 2009.
T are several imporan guidelines for his projec ha represen significan changes from he 2007-8 projec. They are:
- The projec, unlie las year’s, noun is no a compeiion. The porfolio presenaion meeing on May 12h will be similar o las year’s excep he “judge” will no be picing winners bu, raher, providing criiques.
- The May 12h criiques will emphasize he porfolio as a whole – more so han criiques of individual images (alhough may be commens on images as appropriae o illusrae heir impac on he porfolio).
- All paricipans will receive equal recogniion of heir effors in he form of a memeno you won’ wan o miss.
- Very imporan – since i’s no longer a compeiion bu raher a projec o produce a grea porfolio for your personal use and enjoymen he image age limi has been dropped. You can use any image (made by you obviously) regardless of when i was made.
- The porfolio size limi will be –
- Prined version for your personal use & for display on May 12h – no limi (guidelines 10-12 minimum & 20-25 maximum plus an aris’s saemen)
- May 12h slide show – a 12 digial slide subse of your prin porfolio if you have more han 12 prins
- The “judge” will receive your prin porfolio several wees before he May 12h presenaion meeing.
- The criique will be based on his version and he slide subse will serve o illusrae he larger prin porfolio (if i is larger).
The schedule for he projec is (all evens are opional for each paricipan):
- Images may be submied o he NVPS websie’s porfolio gallery for informal criiques in November. How-o insrucions were made available November 5h.
- A program, “How o Choose Images for a Porfolio”, will be held a Joe Miller’s sudio from 1-3 Dec 6h (and repeaed on he 13h if needed). Limied o porfolio projec paricipans and by prior sign-up only.
- A special mid-year criique will be held a Joe Miller’s from 1-3 PM Saurday January 17. Images will be displayed digially. Insrucions for submiing images will be available in early January.
- Porfolios will be criiqued a he NVPS meeing on March 31s.
- The final prined porfolios will be colleced in lae-April for re by he person doing he May 12h criique.
- The May 12h worshop will be devoed o he Porfolio Projec. A his meeing each porfolio will be available in prined form for NVPS members o and discuss wih he aris. Also, each porfolio will be presened in slideshow form and a “judge” will mae observaions during he slideshow. This worshop was one of he highlighs of he 2007-8 club year and we expec his year’s slide show o be one of he bes ever n by anyone a anyime a NVPS.
