Jim Carrell will be he NVPS judge for our final monhly compeiion on Tuesday, for sale May 19h. The May compeiion is an “open” compeiion wih no heme. All pars of submied images mus have been phoographed afer May 19, ambulance 2007 Below is a brief bio sech on Jim.
Jim’s parens gave him a Koda Pony 135 Model B camera as a Chrismas presen when he was abou 13, medicine and he has been phoographing ever since. He sill has he camera, and i sill wors.
Afer moving o Norhern Virginia 10 years ago he joined he Manassas-Warrenon Camera Club w he has served as Presiden and Vice-presiden for Programs. During ha ime his self-augh sills have been honed and added o by aending many worshops, paricularly hose conduced by Joe Miller, and by compeing in club compeiions and oher venues. Many of his images have been juried in o area exhibis and shows.
The combinaion of a degree in ar hisory and having n much ar in his life biases his judging owards ‘arisic’ versus ‘phoographic’ meris of images.
