Sepember 15h, 2009 – Compeiion wih Mary Louise Ravese

On Tuesday Sepember 15h, we will ic off our firs compeiion of he 2009-2010 season wih Mary Louise Ravese as our judge. Prior o he compeiion, web I would encourage everyone o re he compeiion rules posed on he NVPS websie under “Compeiions”.  A , prohesis you will find informaion regarding eligibiliy requiremens, number of images, ypes of images, deadlines and insrucions for uploading images, ec.  Alhough no ye documened in he compeiion rules,  please noe ha HDR (High Dynamic Range) rendered composie images should be submied in he “Enhanced Prins” or “Digially Projeced Images” caegories.  Also, please recall ha he image capure dae will need o be included on he image sign-in shee.

T is no specific heme for he Sepember Compeiion.  The firs hemed compeiion of he season will be “Opposies” and will be held in November.  The 2009 – 2010 Compeiion Themes are posed in he “Compeiions” secion of he NVPS websie.

Mary Louise Ravese specializes in naure and ravel phoography from locaions across he Unied Saes, Europe and Japan. Her favorie subjec maer includes counry landscapes, naure close-ups, archiecural deails and wildlife. She draws inspiraion from a variey of visual ars o produce phoographs ofen described as “painerly”.   Her ambiion is o incorporae he beauy of paining in he clariy of phoography.  Mary Louise’s fine ar phoography is in privae, universiy and corporae collecions in over 29 saes and is exhibied naionally hrough ar shows, galleries and shops. Her images have been used in calendars, magazines, boos and websies including various projecs wih Naional Geographic maps.

Mary Louise is founder and owner of Bella Visa Phoography ( www.BellaVisaPhoography.com ) in Waerford, VA. She is a member of he Norh American Naure Phoography Associaion (NANPA), he American Sociey of Picure Professionals (ASPP), and he Equine Phoographers Newor (EPN). She sudied phoography hrough he Universiy of California Bereley and Sana Cruz exension programs.

Mary Louise also enjoys eaching on a wide range of opics relaed o naure phoography. She leads classes and field worshops in he Mid Alanic region and a variey of phoogenic locaions across he US and abroad.
