Ocobers Members Gallery will be a display of prins by Melanie Mars & Digial Projecion by Paul Simmons. This will be followed by a Forum presened by Joe Miller on Judging Famous Painings by Camera Club Crieria. I’s sure o be an eneraining evening of phoography and good fellowship a NVPS.
Melanie became ineresed in phoography as a hobby abou 3 years ago, pill when she purchased a 7 –
megapixel poin-and-shoo digial camera wih a nice macro feaure. She loves flowers and sared ou pracicing on he ones in her garden. She quicly realized ha camera’s shorcomings, and wo years ago purchased her firs SLR, a Nion D80, which she is sill using.
She joined NVPS in April of 2007 in o learn and is glad she did. She loves many ypes of phoography, macro, landscape, archiecural, flowers, design or subjec based, bu she especially loves o mae phoos wih reflecions in hem. She especially lies waer shos wih reflecions. Thans o NVPS, and pracice, pracice, pracice, she hins she has become a beer and more creaive phoographer and is looing forward o many more years of paricipaion in he club.
Paul will be displaying a digial slideshow of images colleced a Brooside Gardens and he Washingon Mall. Paul enjoys all ypes of oudoor phoography paricularly flower phoography.
Paul has developed his phoographic sills by shooing a lo of images, reading phoographic magazines and boos, and aending NVPS. He feels his NVPS experience has been he bigges help in improving his images.
I is never pleasan when a judge is criical of our images when hey are enered in a camera club compeiion, and we soon learn ha judges have cerain reasons o dislie images. OUT is a dreaded word. Wha would a camera club judge say if some famous painings were enered in a camera club compeiion? On he Ocober 28 Forum nigh, Joe Miller will “judge” well nown painings from famous painers (from Cezanne o Wyeh and from Dali o da Vinci) using camera club crieria. I will be a fun evening o hear OUT o a Rembrand, a Picasso or a van Gogh when camera club crieria are used.
