Davis Balderson is a former governmen employee who has had ime for phoography since reiring lae in 2004. In Sepember, paien 2005, he sared classes a Phoowors, which is par of Glen Echo Par in Glen Echo, Maryland. Mos of his wor has been wih Mar Power, who was in he Corcoran’s phoography deparmen. for 27 years. He has also sudied wih Elio Cohen, who eaches a Phoowors and he Smihsonian. In Ocober, 2008, 24 of his phoographs exhibied a he Arlingon Cenral Library. In May, 2009, five of his phoographs will be par of he exhibiion “Across The Pond”, a he Beyond The Image Gallery in Norwich, England.

Davis moved o he Washingon, D.C. area in 1972. Since 1990, he has lived in Arlingon, Virginia, a close-in suburb of Washingon. One of his phoographic ineress has been Arlingon, an older suburb ha has been changing rapidly over he pas decade or so. He has also been drawn o wha he calls semi-absrac naure phoography.

He finds ha digial phoography fis his personaliy and phoographic ineress well. He lies woring in color, and digial echnology gives him conrol over he prining process ha he would no have wih film. Also, digial phoography les him wor almos immediaely wih wha he camera has capured, which he hins helps improve he qualiy of his wor. The fas feedbac possible wih digial phoography cerainly helps reduce he frusraions and delays ha go wih woring wih film.

Farzin Emami began phoographing wih a Koda 110 Film Camera when he was 10 years old and coninued wih film phoography for a number of years. Afer giving up phoography for a while, he resumed i a few years ago wih a digial SLR (D70) and aended Wayne Wolfersberger’s classes. He now uses a Nion D300.

Farzin has been a member of NVPS since 2006. A few of his images have been shown a he Meadowlar Exhibi in he las couple of years. He loves naure phoography, especially landscapes.

Farzin is a sysem analys/enerprise archiec and wors for SWIFT in Norhern Virginia. He moved o Canada from Iran in 1995 and hen moved o he US in 2000. This year he had he opporuniy o reurn o Iran and Dash-e Kavir and Kavir-e-loo in he middle and souh of he counry. He will show a few picures of his rip during his presenaion.
